Sponsor A Child
We are a small charity and we can make your experience very personal while at the same time do our best for the children. Indeed, we take sponsoring a child seriously and ideally we want our sponsors (individuals, families, companies) to take up the challenge of supporting their sponsored child right through primary and secondary education and perhaps even to the highest level of education they can reach.
We believe that sponsors want long term changes in children’s lives and that they see sponsoring as a long term commitment of support and friendship for the children. But we also understand how circumstances can change. What matters most is that, with us, you care enough to do your best.
Our unique approach:
Unlike other organisations we make a distinction in the types of relationship you may have with your sponsored child based on his / her age. Children up to 10 years old are not asked to write to their sponsors and are not made aware that they are being sponsored, but you will of course receive photos and news. Costs:
Plan 1 is for children aged 10 and under
$80 a year for a primary education.
Plan 2 is for children aged 11+ in primary education
$100 a year for a primary education and full living costs.
Plan 3 is for children in secondary education
$200 a year for up to 4 years of secondary or college education living or at a Government Secondary School during term times.
Our commitment:
We will send you photos and information about your sponsored child and up to 3 updates / child’s letters a year, along with school reports and photos. We will write a blog and send out newsletters so that you can see how all the children are doing and be re-assured.
Your commitment:
You pledge to make your payment regularly by standing order, to write a couple of letters to your child / student each year and to follow our sponsoring guidelines.
As you would expect from an organisation working with children, we have a strict safeguarding policy with regards to privacy and possible exploitation. It is sent along with our application form for your review and acceptance.
We also provide guidance on writing letters, visits and gifts in our welcome pack. Our pack is meant to help you feel confident about committing to providing stability and hope to one of our orphans as well as to ensure their protection.
